"UPDATE: Prescription Breach"

A breach of the presciption database did indeed occur and the Virginia Department of Health Professionals are mailing letters to 530,000 people whose social security numbers were included in their database. The letters are going to inform people about the breach and recommend they keep an eye on their credit records. According to the department's press release, a criminal investigation is still taking place. Here's the link to the press release:

You'll also notice the press release mentions measures are being put in place to bulk up the database's security.
